	Infrared Imagery for Bay County, Florida 3DS is currently under contract to acquire both color infrared imagery and oblique imagery of approximately 10,000 acres in Bay County, Florida, over a three year period. Infrared color photography is often used by scientists to document the health of various trees and foliage. The role of 3DS is to provide horizontal and vertical geodetic control throughout the project area to support Ortho Photo production, in combination with airborne GPS camera equipped with IMU Stabilization and Forward Motion Compensation. The project area was flown at an altitude of 6000' AGL with an average ground speed of 155 knots. The Airborne GPS survey produced exterior orientations for each photo in Easting, Northing, Elevation, Omega, Phi, and Kappa measurements. In addition to the Airborne GPS survey, conventional surveying consisting of ten pre-placed 30' "V" shaped targets was used to establish horizontal and vertical positions. GPS measurements were gathered using three Trimble R8 GPS receivers. Each observation was documented by rubbing, sketch, or photograph. Due to the absence of roads throughout the project, some targets were only accessible by boat. 10 Control Points Consisting of 30' "V" Shaped Targets The AT process included the exterior orientation of the images provided by the airborne GPS and the measurement of the ten photo control targets. 3DS received a 5000' by 5000' grid for Northwest Florida from the principle researcher at a local university, which was used as a cutting edge for the contiguous tiles of the Infrared Ortho. 3DS provided the client with tiled infrared images at .3 meter pixel resolution per project specifications.
